About Diathermy

What is Diathermy?

Diathermy is a precise and effective treatment that uses high-frequency electrical currents to treat a variety of skin conditions. The procedure involves using a fine needle to deliver electrical currents to targeted areas, causing controlled tissue destruction. This process is particularly effective for treating conditions such as broken capillaries, spider veins, skin tags, milia, and other benign skin lesions.

How It Works

During a Diathermy session, a fine needle is used to deliver high-frequency electrical currents to the targeted area. The heat generated by the electrical currents causes coagulation of the blood vessels or tissue, effectively removing the skin imperfection. The treatment is quick and precise, with minimal discomfort and downtime. Diathermy is ideal for treating small, localised areas and provides immediate results.

Who is it Suited to?

Diathermy is suitable for individuals looking to address specific skin imperfections. It is particularly effective for:

  • Broken capillaries and spider veins
  • Skin tags
  • Milia (small, white cysts)
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Other benign skin lesions
